NARROW SHOULDER

Near where I live they’re doing construction on the highway, because they’re widening it.

I feel like they’ve been working on it forever. . . but fortunately the traffic coming home from work at night isn’t half as bad as it was last year. There’s only once I was in bumper to bumper traffic and it happened when I was past the Skyway and getting off at the exit.

Anyways, the whole point to this is that because they’re widening the highway, there are incredibly narrow shoulders on the road. The first few times I drove past that area it scared the crap out of me because I thought for sure that I would hit the side.

I’m used to it now, so it’s not such a big deal, but whe I was driving home the other night I kept thinking, Holy crap these are disgustingly narrow. Of course, I’m sure it’s not really as bad as I feel like it is. But it honestly feels like the barrier is HELLO RIGHT NEXT TO YOU!

I really hope they’re done sooner rather than later. ~_~

I took the above picture when I was driving. I know, that’s nice and safe. You can see my dirty windows, haha (it rained for about two minutes before I got the photo) but look how close that barrier is! LOOK AT IT!

I know! It probably looks like I’m being a wimp just looking at the photo, but it feels SO close! Especially when there’s a car (or even worse, a transport truck) on the other side. :/

I feel the same way on that stretch of highway. I hate driving through construction to begin with, but that stretch makes it even worse.

It’s horrible when you get stuck next to a transport truck. Especially ones that weave between the lanes :(
