Trillium Award

Every year in the city I’m from in Canada, they have these Trillium Awards that are given out to recognize people who have worked hard to make their landscaping attractive.

I didn’t know much about it, so I looked it up online, and I guess there are four categories, which includes residential houses.

The point?

Well, feeling proud of the work they had done, my mum decided to nominate their garden (at the house). She’s a bit embarrassed to say that she actually went through nominating them, and doesn’t want to seem like she’s tooting her own horn, but she saw the application form and figured, why not.

When I was back in Canada last week, we got a letter in the mail saying that they had made it into the top 60 out of more than 300 entrants!
Both of my parents were pretty happy, and they therefore were invited to a banquet in September where they’ll announce the winners.

The final judging happened over two weeks… so, we’ll see what the results end up being!

I don’t know if it was just the front yard or the back, but here’s a photo I took of the front yard before we headed out to the airport…

Best of luck, Mom and Dad!
