Music
When I was a kid we had this old, rickety, upright piano in our basement. It a chocolate brown, and the keys were turning yellow with age. The pedals squealed a bit when you pressed on them, and the bench squeaked every time you sat down on it. I loved that thing.
My mother took piano lessons for a while as a child, and could still play some. She taught me ‘Heart and Soul’. You know, that one song that every kid seems to learn, whether they actually can play the piano or not. I also learned the classics, ‘Chopsticks’ and ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb’. Since I was showing interest in piano, my parents enrolled me in piano lessons, where I met my teacher Bev.
When I was about seventeen, the conservatory that I took lessons at offered me a job. I took it, and taught piano lessons for the next six or so years. Now, I play if I have the chance (I currently have no piano, sadly) and am still in touch with Bev, some of my former classmates, and other co-workers from the conservatory.
