Music is something pretty important to me. I’ve been playing piano for years and I almost always have a song stuck in my head. So, in this section you’ll find a few random things dealing with music, including my piano playing and a little Flash player with a few songs that I like, and have therefore chosen to put on it.

So, Ed gave me the idea of having a little update here with the daily random songs that I get stuck in my head. I figured the easiest way to do that, was through Twitter. Click the link and hear the song. You know you want it in your head too.

When I was a kid we had this old, rickety, upright piano in our basement. It a chocolate brown, and the keys were turning yellow with age. The pedals squealed a bit when you pressed on them, and the bench squeaked every time you sat down on it. I loved that thing.

My mother took piano lessons for a while as a child, and could still play some. She taught me ‘Heart and Soul’. You know, that one song that every kid seems to learn, whether they actually can play the piano or not. I also learned the classics, ‘Chopsticks’ and ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb’. Since I was showing interest in piano, my parents enrolled me in piano lessons, where I met my teacher Bev.

When I was about seventeen, the conservatory that I took lessons at offered me a job. I took it, and taught piano lessons for the next six or so years. Now, I play if I have the chance (I currently have no piano, sadly) and am still in touch with Bev, some of my former classmates, and other co-workers from the conservatory.

The follow links are recordings that I did for my blog of various songs.

So, we have one of these spiffy radio.blog things over on Shattered-Tranquility.net, and I thought hey, why not put one here too? I was going to do only five songs, but it’s so hard to choose, so I went with eight. I’ll change them up on a not-so-regular basis. A short blurb about the songs follows.

Here is the Music Player. You need to installl flash player to show this cool thing!
