GO READ NOW.

Kat and I finally got a camp tales set up on Tumblr. (MELINDA. SIGN UP SO WE CAN INVITE YOU TO POST IN THE GROUP TOO).

So, go read it. We’ve only posted a couple things so far, but since tumblr is awesome and fun to post in, it’ll make it easier for us to update on a somewhat regularish basis.

We’re planning to put stories, quotes, and questions that we constantly get asked about NF and the campground.

So CHECK IT OUT. And comment. Because comments are nice.

Why?

You know what I think is really… lame? Tacky, even.

When people on MySpace make “thanks for adding me” banners that include photos of themselves. I mean, if it’s an artist or a band, then I can understand because in a sense you’re trying to sell yourself in order to make more fans and gain support.

However, the average joe does not need to include their own photo on a thanks for adding me banner. Or on a Merry Christmas or Happy New Year banner. Actually, they don’t need to include a photo of themselves on anything but the photo section of the page or in their display photo.

I do not want to go to band’s MySpace and see the comments trolled up by all these random people. It takes the comments a longer time to load and it’s just damn irritating.

Another one.

Ah, caught another direct linker.

Replaced the two images they were direct linking with Yomi bum, and got Ernie to leave a message on their shoutbox asking them to please stop direct linking. It was a nice message, nothing rude.

So, they deleted the message and stopped direct linking the one image. I guess they haven’t realized that there’s one more. Oh well, it’s still a Yomi bum which is pretty amusing.

Does anyone else notice how the tags ‘internet’ and ‘stupidity’ tend to go together quite often?

Valenth

Thank you to everyone who’s been feeding Micaiah and Sothe!! Micaiah finally grew out of her test tube thing and into a totally adorable dragon. Sothe is almost there too (and, it actually worked out perfectly because Micaiah is like, way way way older than Sothe is).

I also adopted two more; Ike (the blue one) and Haar (the green and black one). So, if you have the time to feed them it would be much appreciated! You can still feed Micaiah too, because she has more growing up to do!

I think the thing I like most about the Valenth creatures, is that they don’t die. With Dragcave, if they don’t get enough clicks they die which in truth is kind of depressing. But for Valenth, they still live. And! They way they grow up is influenced by what you feed them. Which is pretty cool.

But I’m really happy Micaiah ended up being so adorable. I’ll be sad if Sothe is ugly… he has to be cute too so they fit nicely together.

. . . Yes, my FE obsession has reached new levels of sickness.

I also plan on playing it this weekend, because I haven’t all week (shocking, I know).

It seems like they never go away.

Despite the fact that I’m not working in the office, if the campground line rings and I’m near the phone, I answer it.

I mean why not, right?

For some reason, a bunch of people decided to call the campground line today. One was a telemarketer who I was pretty rude to and thinking back on it I feel kind of bad, because she’s just doing her job. But this particular company calls at times, three times a week in the summer. They ask for my boss and when we say he’s not there, they try to sell whoever answered the phone their product (cell phone).

So she started her spiel, after I had told her he wasn’t there, and I cut her off and said, “Sorry but I’m not interested”. She asked why I wasn’t interested, did I have a cell phone already? And I said, “Honestly, you guys call us all the time in the summer. It’s really annoying and I’m just not interested”.

Then I hung up. It just gets so irritating.

Then I had another gem. Which made me go, Ahh, the good old campground days. It went a little something like this (doesn’t that make it seem like I’m going to break out into song?).

Me: Hello, [campground name]
Him: Hi… are you still open?
Me: No, unfortunately we’re not. We closed on October 15th.
Him: Oh I see.
Me: Yeah…
Him: Well, could I stay there for just one night?
Me: O_O We’re closed for the season.
Him: Yeah, but don’t really need anything. No water or sewer, just electric.
Me: … we’re closed for the season. The electric is shut off.
Him: I just need one night though.
Me: I’m sorry, but we’re all closed up.
Him: Well, do you know of anywhere else I could stay?
Me: *asks Nicole* You can try [campground name].
Him: Where are they?
Me: [Tells location]
Him: Do you have their number?
Me: … No I don’t. But their website is [address].
Him: Oh okay… thanks.

He wasn’t really rude to me or anything, but why would we open the campground for one night just because you want to come camping. Does that make sense? No, no it doesn’t. It doesn’t at all actually.

I had another lady call and ask when we closed. I told her October 15th, and she said Oh… Oh! That’s already passed! Haha. It was cute.

But seriously, people who a) keep asking if they can come when I’ve already told them we’re closed and b) ask me details about other campgrounds when I obviously do not work at those campgrounds annoy me.

In good news, I got my new DSL modem. It’s a newer model, smaller and really hot. I love it.

Oh. my. god.

Okay. Two things.

According to my mum we got the following message on my answering machine:

Do not wash your vehicle in the driveway.

Ten points if you can guess who it’s from. Another ten if you can kindly explain what the hell is shoved up her ass to make her act like such a stupid bitch. I mean really. My dad was washing his car on our property which has nothing to do with her. That’s like me calling and being all, DON’T MAKE BREAKFAST IN YOUR KITCHENNNNN. I mean seriously. Unfortunately my dad deleted the message, but next time she calls with something ridiculous we’re going to save it and report her for harrassment because this is just getting out of hand.

No one visiting us can park in the driveway for more than ten minutes without her throwing a fit. However, her customers can park in her driveway for as long as they want… or the people who were redoing her kitchen or whatever. They can park in the driveway all day. And that’s okay?

I can’t stand this women. I hope she gets a life soon or at the very least moves away.

And two, the internet is down. Watson peed on my modem. So I thought that my modem was busted; it wasn’t connectnig to the internet, but it was lighting up. I thought maybe he just ruined a small part of it, so it couldn’t connect.

I called the internet people and they made me do some tests and then looked into what was up with the DSL light on the modem not going on. He said the line was okay but then after some investigation they found out that the center where we get DSL from was down. He said give it half an hour and it should be back up.

Two hours later, I called back. The lady told me this time that they have to sent a technician out to fix it, so it won’t be up until tomorrow. Probably not until tomorrow night. I asked her if I could still connect via dial-up, and she said I could and gave me the phone number so I could get on.

So right now, I’m using dial-up and I totally forgot how painful it is. I only have ten hours of dial-up too.

It takes ten hours to even go to a site. :/

Hopefully by tomorrow everything will be up and running.

Thanks to Ailea I am now addicted to Plurk.

It’s like twitter, but I think that it’s a lot more fun.

And I like the layout of it.

So I strongly urge everyone to come sign up.

And then add me.

Johari

I don’t remember why, but I came across the Johari window thing again. I showed it to Ernie, and he made one.

So I made Ailea fill it out, and I filled it out too.

Then I went back into the depths of my journal to find mine. I know I had made one long before the second one, but I wanted to start fresh. Because afterall, people change.

This is the newer one of the two. If you haven’t and feel so inclined please do it and then make your own and comment with it, or post it on your journal so I can do yours!

And if anyone who’s friends with Ernie wants to do his:
http://kevan.org/johari?name=theerninator. I don’t think he’d care that I’m posting his in my journal, (right, Ern?).
