Tokyo, Japan

I’ve had the oppurtunity to travel to Tokyo on a few occasions for no other reason than to go and see some of the sites. The first gallery contains random shots from here and there in Tokyo. The city shots were taken both from Tokyo Tower and in Roppongi Hills. For more information, enlarge the photo and read the description. The photos are not in any sort of chronological order. On a side note, many of the photos within each gallery here were taken by Kat.

The Meiji Shrine
明治神宮
The next set of photos are all from the Meiji Shrine. The first time Nelske and I went sight-seeing there, we were lucky enough to catch a wedding in process. The second time (I went with Nelske again — different trip) we spent a few hours just wandering down the paths seeing where they lead. Finally the third time was when Kat and I went on a ridiculously hot August day.
Asakusa and Sensouji
浅草と浅草寺
On a nice, boiling hot Tokyo day, Kat and I ventured out to Asakusa and explored the area and the temple. We had to take a brief rest to eat some ice with syrup.
Roppongi Hills
六本木ヒルズ
On Kim’s reccomendation, Kat and I decided to spend an afternoon at Roppingi Hills. It was really nice, and we went up the Mori Tower to see the skyline of Tokyo (photos from which you can find at the top of this page). While we were there, we also visited the “Sky Aquarium III” which was more like art with marine life, and we visited the Ai Wei Wei exhibit that was on.
Cosplayers in Harajuku
原宿でコスプレイヤー達
This next batch of photos are all from Harajuku on a Sunday when there was a bunch of people all cosplaying various bands. In this collection you’ll find a whole bunch of Dir en grey cosplayers (that was the most popular that day), the sweetest Alice Nine cosplayers, someone doing hide and a few from the GazettE.
Food in Tokyo & Karaoke
東京で食べた物とカラオケ
It makes sense to mention that both Kat and Kim are big ‘foodies’, and on Kat and my trip to Tokyo we ended up having some great food. These are a few photos from that occasion, and a random photo from karaoke thrown in for good measure.
